Zito Pitches Well Against Dodgers, Giants Win
Monday, April 27th, 2009April 27th, 2009 - Barry Zito continues to ruin the value of this website with another darling performance against the much Los Angeles Dodgers. Overall, this was a great game that showed the San Francisco Giants can compete with what is maybe the best
team in the MLB. The douchebags Dodgers are solid from top to bottom, and any hitter can really ruin a good start with one swing of the bat.
In the second inning I started to get pretty worried as the classic sign that Zito was about to get ripped reared its ugly head. Zito left the first 7 pitches of the inning up in the zone but luckily got out of a jam with an inning ending double play. It was a big difference from the first inning when Barry only needed 9 pitches to retire the Dodgers.\
In the stands was a possibly drunk Barry Bonds sitting front row and looking better then everyone like always. I could smell the liquor threw the TV when he did an interview with Amy Gutierrez (who by the way is fucking awful). I am sure this is the only way he could go to a ball game and be on the nonathletic part of the stadium.
The Giants pulled out a great win 5-4 and continued to look like a legit team. We have now won 7 of our last 9, with both of those two losses happening during the last at bats of our opponents.
In the bottom of the third, we scored three on a couple of brain farts by the Dodgers and then a single by Pablo Sandoval. Zito then took a shutout into the 7th before getting tired and making some mistakes. He gave up a two run homerun to Casey Blake, an RBI single to Orlando Hudson, and then another RBI single to that fuck face Manny Ramirez. He was then pulled.
Zito had his 13-inning scoreless streak snapped and remains win less in his last 10 April starts. He pitched a total of 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and five hits.
“I’m still upset at myself for walking [Mark] Loretta and not bearing down on Blake,” Zito said. “Sure I was starting to tire, but I have to bear down. It’s strictly mental.”
We won Barry, you kept us in the game and we rallyed around you to steal back the win. Ill take a game like this from you everyday.
