Ah Shit.

For the second time in a week the San Francisco Giants were beat by the Arizona Diamond backs. For the second time in a week, Brandon Webb faced Barry Zito. For the second time in a week Webb pitched well, and Zito fucking sucked.

Zito hit a new low this season giving up up 5 runs in just 3.2 innings. This time he had no excuse as the Giants got an early three runs to start the game against one the best pitchers in the MLB Brandon Webb. There were also no errors committed by the Giants.

Chris Snyder started the scoring by singling in Conor Jackson and Mark Reynolds in the 2nd. Then in the 4th, for the second time in a week Brandon Webb knocked in two runs in one at bat against Zito. Webb doubled home Mark Reynolds and the young phenom Justin Upton. Eric Byrnes then drove home Webb to make it 5-3.

Zito was then yanked due to his standard shitty pitching.

78 pitches thrown in 3.2 innings, pretty good Barry. Go back to the fucking A’s.

In a game where the pitching match up was meant to be a clash of titans, it was more of a shot of reality to the San Francisco Giants and their fans. Brandon Webb improved to 4-0 while Barry Zito went to 0-4. They are both the ace’s over their teams, yet only one pitches like it.

Webb continued his dominate year by throwing 8.0 innings 3 hits and allowing only one run. The only stat that Zito was able to match him at was pitch total, even though Zito through for two less innings.

The Arizona Diamondbacks began the scoring in the second when Barry Zito walked the first three batters to start the inning. Zito got the next two batters out leaving two outs and the pitcher Brandon Webb up to bat. End of inning right? Incorrect, Webb hit a single up the middle scoring two runs. Webb dominated Zito on the mound and at the plate.

The scoring continued in the 5th inning when Eric Byrnes hit a ground rule double to center scoring Steven Drew. Next batter was Orlando Hudson who singled to center scoring Chris Young. Zito was lucky enough to watch Eric Byrnes get thrown out at home during the play helping out his skyrocketing ERA.

"It’s just a fine line," Zito said. "I feel good about the way I’m throwing and have to stick with that."

A fine line is 2-2, not 0-4. Thanks "ace".

Zito once again couldn’t make it passed the 6th inning, even though he hit 85 plus pitches for the fourth straight game.

This season is getting long already, the Giants look like the Bad News Bears every time Barry Zito takes the mound. The Cardinals beat the Giants 8-2 giving Zito his third straight loss.

It all started in the third when ManChild Albert Pujols (pronounced Poo-Holes according to his ESPN profile) hit a rocket to deep center scoring Skip Shumaker. Poo-Holes ended at second, and the Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead. Later on in the 5th, Pujols did what Pujols does best (and what everyone else does best against Zito) and homered.

Overall Zito had only one earned run in 6 innings pitched. This was not a terrible start by any means against an offensive team. However, its Zito’s third straight loss to start the season.

"Letting Pujols beat me obviously spoils anything about the game," Zito said. "The two hits he got off me to drive in runs were with two outs. I can’t let that happen. He’s too good a hitter. I need to get him to chase off the plate."

You can’t get anyone to chase anything, let alone Albert Pujols. I would be reinvesting the $14.5 million you are set to make this year, as it will be the last time you ever get paid that amount again.

Saturday April 6th, 2009 -Milwaukee — Another start another loss. This looks to be a reoccurring theme. The Giants were beat 7-0 by the Milwaukee Brewers today. While Ben Sheets looked godly, Zito was back to his shitty form. He had a little help from our defense today, two errors were the cause of two of Zito’s five runs allowed. Although I am positive Zito would have allowed them to score regardless.

The scoring started in the 2nd inning when J.J Hardy doubled to deep right center scoring Corey Hart. In the 3rd, Gabe Kapler hit a sacrifice fly to allowing the catcher Jason Kendall to score from third.

Later in the 4th, Kendall hit a sac fly to cent scoring Chris Hart. Just to top it off, Kapler went yard in the 5th followed by the stud Ryan Braun.

Zito sucks.

"The results aren’t what I want, but I made a lot better pitches consistently and got ahead consistently," Zito said. "Got to work on keeping that ball true instead of having it come back."

Unfortunately, the homerun balls couldn’t come back either.

Well it was opening day today, and of course we put our “Ace” on the mound to start the season off right. Right?

Wrong.

Barry Zito quickly crushed our hopes of a rebound from last years terrible season with three runs in the first. Matt Kemp singled to center which scored Rafael Furcal. Jeff Kent then took one deep out of left center scoring Matt Kemp.

In the second, Furcal got up once again singling Blake Dewitt home. Zito was yanked in the 5th just like most starting day pitchers were…oh they weren’t? Shit.

Zito finished with 4 earned runs of 8 hits, and threw 87 pitches. Overall, this looks to be a long season for the Giants “ace”.

Zito did however tie a major league record by losing his fourth straight opening day start. He now shares this with four other pitchers.

Zito said after the game “The first inning was obviously not what we wanted. Furcal’s a free-swinger and he hit a pitch that was at his shoulder, basically, and the ball stayed fair somehow. The pitch to Kent was a fastball away that just came over the middle, and I think that was the difference right there. I wanted to come out here and start off the season on a good note, but that first inning got out of hand. If I could take a couple of pitches back, it’s a one-run game.”

Giants fans, god help us all.
