Giants Send Barry Zito to Bullpen
In an act of god, Barry Zito has been sent to the bullpen to get his shit straight. Coach Bruce Bochy announced that the San Francisco Giants have decided to send Barry Zito, their $126 million dollar man, to the bullpen.
When asked by the media what Zito though of this, "I definitely want the ball. I’m not backing down from that," Zito said. "But they know what’s best for the ballclub. It feels [bad] going out here and losing for these guys."
Zito is now the highest paid reliever in the history of Major League Baseball.
Our thoughts here at Trade Barry Zito are simple, Trade Barry Zito. He is a good guy, and I like his attitude, but this was the worst move in sports since Mike Hamptons trade. Every fan knew Zito was not going to be good anymore, and that we should not have signed him. Unfortunately it has taken the Giants a bit longer to realize this.

To the person who wrote the above “…every fan knew that Barry Zito was not going to be good anymore…” I have this to say:
I am a Barry Zito fan so please do not speak for me when you say “every fan.” I think that some average Joes have nothing better to do with their lives than sit around and attack professional athletes, like Barry Zito, because you a JEALOUS! Most guys only dream of being a big league pitcher. As for your “not being good anymore comment”… I attended the Cleveland v. San Francisco Giants game in Cleveland. Zito’s performance on the mound was awesome and his demeanor very professional. He was on fire and is clearly a former Cy Young award winner. Barry Zito is a great pitcher and a great human being from what I hear in his efforts off the mound…and I get tired of guys who trash professional athletes. If you do not like a particular player….fine but please refrain from making ridiculous statements like “every fan knows that Barry Zito is not going to be good anymore…” His Cleveland game on 6/25 and others after it this season clearly show he is a talented pitcher. All pitchers have mechanic problems and are actually human, no matter what they get paid. Just because a pitcher makes alot of money or whatever, that does not mean he is humanly capable of pitching a perfect game every time he goes out. Personally, I think Zito handes the constant pressure to be great and the whining and criticisms about his not being perfect in a very professional way. I think that if the average person had to deal with the constant criticism and pressures that these high profile professional athletes have to endure…most average people would crumble under the constant pressure….Zito does not…he is a class act. Maybe that is why he is a professional baseball pitcher and you are sitting around on-line and whining about him. Just a note: I also saw a game where Zito lost but he was still the same professional even when he got the loss.
