Zito Back From Bullpen - Giants Lose

Barry Zito in Dugout The San Francisco Giants continued to do the same they always do when Barry Zito pitches. Lose. This time to the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1.

Most would say this was a good start for Barry Zito, only giving up 2 runs on basically one bad pitch. That pitch happened to be a fastball that came back to the plate and Xavier Nady took it to deep left for his 5th homerun of the season.

Zito once again didn’t make it past the 6.0 mark, this time only going 5.0 innings. He did manage to squeeze 99 pitches into those 5 innings however.

Things did look good for number 75 Barry Zito, but still nothing worth his contract. The hapless Pirates should have been an easy foe for the second highest paid pitcher in the MLB. However, a combination of Zito’s pitching and the Giants shitty offense, resulted in the 21st loss of the season for San Francisco.

Zito set another record being the first former 20-game winner to lose the first seven starts of a season.

Zito’s next start will be Friday May 9th vs. the Philadelphia Phillies . You can buy tickets to the game here .
